Shocking video of Turks 'Celebrating' the Armenian Genocide by Singing and Dancing Print E-mail

Washington - This one-minute video of Turkish protesters taking delight in their denial of the Armenian Genocide really illustrates what Dr. Israel Charny (one of the world's top experts on genocide) meant when he wrote:

"To deny the countless deaths of a known event of genocide is to celebrate the deaths of the same victims and to intimate cynically that the doctrine of power which brought about their destruction is still in force, to be used when opportunity permits."

Keep in mind that Turkey's leaders regularly "remind" the Armenians about the Armenian Genocide. Turgut Ozal said he would "teach the Armenians the lessons of 1915." Recep Erdogan, just recently, threatened to deport the remaining Armenians in Turkey. Even the sign held by one of the protesters in this video, "Armenian Girls Like Turkish Guys," represents a chilling and deeply hateful reminder of Turkey's use of rape and sexual violence against Armenian women as a tool of its genocidal campaign.

How would Germans look if they start dancing and singing songs with posters saying “Jewish girls like German guys” right in front of Jews who commemorate Holocaust. The main difference between Armenian and Jewish genocides are the further reaction of the country, which initiated it. While Germany recognized and accepted the historical truth, Turkey still doesn’t and its youth "celebrate" the Genocide by dancing and singing.
